A little over a year ago we began to sense the Lord was calling us to prayer, so we started meeting on Wednesdays at noon in the prayer room to pray. That one small step of obedience has turned into over 53 weeks and counting of prayer. And while it hasn’t been flashy or loud, we’ve seen God faithfully answer prayers, lift burdens, and renew hearts.
The Bible is full of promises for those who choose to seek Him: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” “Those who seek Me will find Me.”
Not rewards of money or success, but something infinitely better: His presence!
Here at Flourishing Grace, our deepest longing is to become a people who pause to seek God together, learn to recognize His voice, and respond to Him in joyful obedience.
That is why, following our Night of Prayer and Worship, we’ll be opening our sanctuary Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm. The room will be set with simple prayer prompts from Scripture designed to help guide you into prayer.
You’re welcome to come and sit for 20 minutes in the middle of your lunch break, or linger longer if you’d like. I know for some, the idea of slipping away from the rush of the day to be still before God seems difficult. But consider what the psalmist says in Psalm 34:10:
“The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
Come as you are. Come weary. Come grateful. Come burdened. Come expectant.
Come and seek Him. The reward is simply Him.
